What Are You Sharing On Twitter?
Do you check your Twitter account every day? What are the things you love to share on this platform?
Last month Diffbot’s Page Classifier API analyzed 750,000 links posted on Twitter looking for current development of online behavior. Here are some of the key findings.
Does information shared via Twitter really stay on this social platform?
Let’s have a look to some of the interesting findings:
- 36% of links shared are images!
- 16% of links lead back to articles.
- Video links make up 9%.
On Forums people often complain about the fact that Twitter seems to become a platform run by ‘robots’. Interesting enough therefore is the fact that 7% of tweeted links lead back to an error page.
When it comes to video sites shared, YouTube ranks no. 1 with 60%. Only 9% go to twitcom.
Would you have guessed that – acording to Diffbot’s analysis – an Indonesian site detik.com dominates the most shared article sites on Twitter? CNN ranks no. 10. And the most shared article sites in english come from the BBC.
What languages are we sharing on Twitter?
68% is English, followed by 7% Japanese and 4% Spanish.
