Google+ was launched on June 28, 2011. It’s the fastest growing social media network in history and has reached 25 million users in less than 30 days.
Every month, more than 85% of global internet users search on Google thus allowing the search engine to dominate worldwide access points to the Internet [MediaPost].
Google is expected to continue to accelerate the integration of Google+ into its product portfolio.
By the end of 2012 Google+ is expected to reach 400 million users.
Similar to Facebook and Twitter, Google+ has its core target audience in the US with 5.3 million unique visitors according to Flowtown. The second largest country is India with 2.8 million unique visitors followed by UK, Canada, Germany and Brazil.
While Pinterest attracts a lot of women, membership on this social network is male dominated: 63% male users compared to 37% female.
Also interesting to mention the fact that only 17% are considered to be active Google+ users. What about the majority of 83%? Definitely a tremendous potential for Google+ to convert these users to become part of the overall active community.
